A new annual meeting coming up!


On Sunday October 25th, the year 2020, there will be a new annual meeting for Gibberish. It will happen at the lovely Stammen Café & Bar from 12 o’clock, and we will serve a delicious lunch. Why should you read on? Because you care. Ask not only what Gibberish can do for you, but also what you can do for Gibberish.

The annual meeting of 2020 will be the fourth annual meeting for Gibberish. The annual meeting is the place where the members of Gibberish can decide the future of our organisation, and impact the direction that we will take the next year. Will Gibberish perform, teach or perhaps organise even more activities connected to improvisational theatre in Trondheim? This is up to the annual meeting to decide.

Being part of the board

For this year’s annual meeting, a whole new board will be elected. We have officially 5 board members and one deputy to the board of Gibberish: One chairperson, one vice-chairperson and three board members. In order to give you an idea of what it means to be in the board we have listed below an overview of roles and tasks that have been covered by previous boards. Nevertheless, the new board can decide their own organisation in the way that they see fit.

Although it looks boring to be in the board, it’s actually quite fun!

Chairperson of the board

Generally oversees that things are done and followed up. Represents Gibberish officially, outwards.

  • organising board meetings (chairperson)
  • applying for funding (chairperson and vice chairperson, and other board members)
  • checking the styret@ email
  • connecting with people for getting gigs or promoting gibberish (also with other board members)
  • organising communication with ‘Tuesday’ group

Vice-chairperson

Can do many different tasks. Also supports chairperson with organisation of “day-to-day” matters.

  • applying for funding (chairperson and vice chairperson, and other board members)
  • connecting with people for getting gigs or promoting gibberish (also with other board members)
  • producing annual report

Economy responsible (new role for 2020-21)

This was previously taken care of by Chairperson, but it can be a good idea to separate those roles – to take care of Gibberish’s economy.

  • sending out fakturas
  • keeping overview of membership & payment
  • presenting economy at Annual Meetings

Social media responsible

Responsible for social media.

  • maintaining and updating the website (also with other board members)
  • maintaining and updating Facebook (also with other board members)
  • producing advertising materials -posters, flyers (also with other board members)

Trykkeriet-attaché

This is a new role from 2020: Representing Gibberish in the board of Trykkeriet Scene. Gibberish is a board member of the really cool improv-inspired Trykkeriet Scene.

Responsible for the open practice at Trykkeriet Scene

  • organising the open practice, which is every Monday at 19.00 at Trykkeriet Scene
